Knowledge Exchange Programme Manager

This role will be based on the University campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.   We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an experienced and ambitious Knowledge Exchange professional looking to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities? Are you a confident leader capable of building excellent working relationships with academic colleagues, funders and senior stakeholders?

As a KE Programme Manager, you will manage the allocation of institutional knowledge exchange funding, providing oversight, due process and accountability for funding decisions. You will play a key role in capturing the outputs and outcomes that arise from knowledge exchange interventions across the University. You will work with University academics to capture the value created across a range of KE projects and programmes. You will work with other fund managers supporting knowledge exchange and impact at Leeds, taking a lead on continuous improvement and leading change programmes which streamline our approach. This work will inform the building of capability in key areas of University research, facilitate the  creation of new partnerships, provide tangible evidence of the value of research and innovation and underpin reporting to external funder/partner organisations.

You will work closely with the Director of Strategy for Research Impact and other Research & Innovation Service Directors to set the direction of the portfolio of projects and establish systems and processes to monitor spend and capture the value that these investments generate.

Working with colleagues in the Policy & Regulation Team, you will play an important role in preparing and maximising statutory returns to Research England, including the Knowledge Exchange Framework and the Knowledge Exchange Concordat. You will coordinate the institution’s Higher Education Innovation Fund Accountability Statement and lead on annual monitoring to the funder.

To be successful you should have strong project management experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work confidently and assertively with a range of senior stakeholders, using coaching, negotiating, communication and influencing skills to achieve successful outcomes.

The University of Leeds is committed to providing equal opportunities for all. The university is a charter member of Athena SWAN and holds the Bronze award. We will be happy to consider job share applications and are committed to flexible working for all our employees.
