Research Fellow in Computational Algorithms for Fluid-Structure Interaction

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have an established background in the design and implementation of algorithms for computational science? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?

We are looking for a Research Fellow to contribute to continuing work on design, implementation and validation of finite element models for fluid-structure interaction problems. The project will involve parallel implementation on high-performance computing architectures, such that large three-dimensional simulations can be undertaken. You will work closely with Dr Mark Walkley and Professor Peter Jimack from the Computational Science and Engineering research theme in the School of Computing.

You will have, or be about to complete, a PhD in Scientific Computing, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a closely allied discipline, with a strong background in designing and implementing numerical algorithms for fluid and solid mechanics applications. You will also have the ability to conduct independent research and a developing track record of publications in international journals. In addition, you will have excellent communication, planning and team working skills.
