Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in Sustainable Development

Are you able to lead and deliver high quality teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses? Can you mentor students through their dissertations?

SRI is an internationally leading centre for research and teaching in the environmental social sciences. The School of Earth and Environment has a highly successful programme of teaching programmes on sustainable development, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated social scientist, with a focus on sustainable development, to join our team, leading and contributing to teaching and scholarship. We are particularly interested in recruiting a flexible colleague, who is comfortable facing a wide range of teaching styles (fieldwork, lectures, small group) and topic areas.

You will lead modules, lectures and workshops across the sustainability suite of Undergraduate and Master programmes, with a particular focus on our BSc Sustainability and Environmental Management programme. This will include social science field courses, skills modules (quantitative methods), general sustainable development teaching and supervising dissertations. In addition to your teaching experience, you should have a background in practice and/or research that is interdisciplinary and that covers topics including sustainable development or environment. An ability to teach quantitative research skills is essential.
