While much of our activity takes place on campus, Security Services also support a range of university locations across Leeds and the surrounding area.</p><p>Security Services work across the whole university estate, supporting students, staff and visitors through visible patrols, coordinated responses, welfare support and customer service. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.</p><p>Security Services is part of the Facilities Directorate, which plays a key role in supporting the University&#39;s community and campus environment. As a Team Leader, you will help deliver a professional service that supports the University&#39;s teaching, research and wider activities.</p><p>A flexible approach is important as the role involves working a rotating shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends.</p><p>We welcome applications from all sections of the community. Residential Services provides accommodation for around 8,500 University of Leeds students in self-catered and catered sites, both on and off campus.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>As a Night Manager, you are responsible for the effective overnight operation of University residences, ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of students, guests and staff outside normal office hours. You will be the Residential Services manager on duty overnight and act as the key escalation point across multiple residences, exercising independent judgement and delegated authority in managing operational, welfare, safety and business continuity matters. </strong></p><p>You will lead night teams to deliver a professional and supportive service, handling complex or sensitive situations confidently while upholding University policies, procedures and values. Acting as the Residential Services Incident Lead overnight, you will coordinate responses to major incidents, ensure compliance with statutory and University requirements, and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard the student experience and University reputation.&nbsp;</p><p>With experience in a fast-paced residential, retail or facilities environment, you will bring a strong track record in frontline service delivery, operational leadership, resource management, incident response and driving high standards of customer care. Are you passionate about working in the fitness industry?&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The University has recently made significant investments into the campus sports facilities including &pound;1.4m on a newly opened, state of the art gym at the Edge. The facility portfolio includes the Edge, the Gryphon Sports Centre and Gryphon Performance Hub. These include a 25m swimming pool with sauna and steam room, 150 exercise classes per week across 3 dedicated studios, an indoor climbing wall, squash courts and the largest indoor sports hall in Leeds.&nbsp;</p><p>This is a customer facing role and you will be responsive to member needs, being regularly available to provide help and advice on the gym floor. You will have a Personal Training and Group Exercise qualification(s), and experience of working in the fitness industry. Do you have excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively? </strong></p><p>As the main point of contact for customers, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and helpful service at our fitness and sport complex at the University of Leeds. The University has invested &pound;1.2M to expand &lsquo;The Edge&rsquo; sports facility and provides state of the art fitness and class equipment, offering a range of classes and aquatics activities and 25 metre 8 lane swimming pool.&nbsp;</p><p>Working as part of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing a range of information to customers, advising on available membership options, taking bookings, handling cash and providing assistance to the sales team when required. You will also assist to monitor the use of the facilities and contribute to the general operation of the service.&nbsp;</p><p>Working alongside the operational teams, our customer advisors play a key role in emergency situations, guiding customers, when necessary, out of the facility, and being the point of contact for emergency services.&nbsp;</p><p>You will have experience of working in a customer focused reception environment with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships. With excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills, you will have the ability to work under pressure during challenging situations and resolve a variety of problems.&nbsp;</p><p>You will be required to work on a shift-based system, which includes the requirement for you to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, University closure days and bank holidays. You will be primarily based at one of our designated sports facilities, however, will be required to work at any of our sports facilities when required.
