          <title><![CDATA[Clinical Teaching Fellow in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy (MHDEN1301)]]></title>

            <p>In line with the School of Dentistry&rsquo;s Student Education strategy you will contribute to, and develop the teaching, supervision and assessment of students within the Dental Hygiene and Therapy programme within the School of Dentistry. There is also a component of integrated teaching (i.e. undergraduate dental students, dental nurses and dental technicians) with the other members of the dental team.</p><p>You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of students within the Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy Programme, together with Dental Surgery students, with active participation in clinical audit and research of Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy and clinical care.</p><p>You will draw on clinical or academic experience to delivery teaching and scholarship in the field of Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. You will contribute to the School through involvement in innovations in student education, and related scholarship. Are you an enthusiastic clinician with an interest in dental education and the opportunity for an academic career?</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>This is a unique opportunity for your development as a clinical teacher. With a dental qualification, full GDC registration and relevant foundation/general professional training or equivalent you must be capable of contributing across the broad range of restorative clinical disciplines within undergraduate dental education.&nbsp;</p><p>You will contribute to maintaining the high quality of clinical education of undergraduate students principally at the Dental Institute in Leeds within the Restorative Department or Acute Dental Care, or at one our Outreach centres as required. Responsibilities will include clinical supervision of students, and admin duties related to the provision of patient care and student education. Please speak to your Line Manager about how you can utilise these.</li></ul><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Access to on-site childcare, shopping discounts and travel schemes are also available.</li></ul><p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>As a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Restorative Dentistry your main duties will include:&nbsp;</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Contributing across the broad range of Restorative Dentistry clinical disciplines within undergraduate dental education and also being involved in the integrated dental teamwork teaching;&nbsp;</li><li>Clinical Restorative Dentistry teaching within the clinical setting of the School of Dentistry/Leeds Dental Institute, pre-clinical (clinical skills) classrooms and the designated Outreach Centres in academic small groups;&nbsp;</li><li>Effective teaching, supervision and continuous assessment of students providing comprehensive dental care for adult patients in academic small groups, with direct intervention where required;&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to develop your own subject and teaching material in accordance with curriculum and clinical requirements;</li><li>Opportunities to assist with examinations and assignments including question setting, standard setting, marking (written and oral) and moderating if appropriate;</li><li>Assisting with co-ordination, further development and regular review of taught and shared modules as appropriate;</li><li>Undertake relevant training and development to maintain up to date knowledge and own continuing personal and professional development.</li></ul><p>These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list.
