This role will be based on the University campus. The post will be offered on an SS4 contract and the successful candidates will work up 35 hours in total flexibly between the contract start date and the end date of 31 July 2027.

Working alongside the Cultural Collections & Galleries Learning and Engagement Team and the wider Cultural Collections team, the Event Interns will work together to plan, prepare and deliver one community or student event to be delivered before the end of May 2027.

This might be a creative workshop, a talk or round table discussion that is inspired by Cultural Collections & Galleries exhibitions and collections. They will also support the delivery of some of the Galleries’ public, student and community events.

In the subsequent year Event Interns will have the opportunity to join the pool of Galleries Creative Freelance workshop providers to deliver wellbeing / creative events for students.

Some events will take place weekdays between 17:00 and 20:00 or Saturdays afternoons so engagers would need to have the flexibility to be available for some sessions at these times. Other events might take place during Gallery opening hours: Tues – Saturday 10 am – 5 pm.

Applicants must be able to commit to the full project and must be studying at the University of Leeds for the duration of the role.

There are 4 vacancies available for this role. 35 hours per intern to be worked flexibly between October 2026 and July 2027.

Digital Content Interns will work with the Cultural Collections & Galleries team to create a piece of content to sit on our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, in response to an exhibition, collection, or small number of works. This content would aim to engage our diverse target audiences, especially students, with our exhibitions and/or collections. This may include:

•    Creating a deep dive experience into certain collection items

•    Creating a guided tour of a group of collection items from an alternative perspective

•    Creating a curation of collection items on a particular theme

•    Creating content to enhance accessibility, such as audio descriptions

•    Creating accompanying social media content, such as Instagram reels

The Learning Development Team provides academic skills support to undergraduates and taught postgraduates. Peer support has proved to be a powerful tool in our work, especially with new students.  You will work alongside our Statistics and Data Support Advisor to offer statistics and data support to students  at the University in one-to-one appointments, drop-in sessions, and small and large group teaching. This work is complemented by an equivalent maths service.
