Do you want to develop and further your skills in online teaching and learning and digital education?</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have an interest in Data Science and Statistics to join the School of Mathematics. You will contribute to the School&rsquo;s research-led teaching and management of student education and will play an important role by contributing to the development of outstanding graduates and scholars. You will be expected to take an active role in the development of our curriculum by supporting the development and delivery of online teaching to a global cohort of distance-learning students.</p><p>You will contribute to the development of mathematics education for the digital age. You will be a member of the School&rsquo;s rapidly growing department Prime (Practice-based Research in Mathematics Education) focussed on enhancing mathematics education, governance of student education and leadership for School-based change projects. We are committed to excellence in Student Education, and you will participate in induction and training events tailored to educators and designed to support you to develop within your career. We particularly welcome applicants whose research aligns with, extends or enhances&nbsp;one or more of our core themes:</p><ul><li>Algebra and Integrable Systems</li><li>Geometry and&nbsp;Analysis</li><li>Logic</li><li>Applied Nonlinear Dynamics</li><li>Astrophysical and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics</li><li>Complex Materials and Industrial Mathematics</li><li>Mathematical Biology and Medicine</li><li>Data Science</li><li>Probability and Financial Mathematics</li><li>Statistical Methodology and Applications.</li></ul><p>We also have a strategic interest in appointing one or more researchers whose work is interdisciplinary (i.e., at the interface with other academic&nbsp;disciplines beyond Mathematics)&nbsp;or bridges across our existing research themes.&nbsp;In Statistics, we particularly welcome applications from candidates with expertise in Statistical Methodology and/or the ability to teach across our portfolio of Data Science programmes.</p><p>This role offers the opportunity to develop and sustain a high‑quality, internationally recognised research programme aligned with the School&rsquo;s strategic priorities, including active engagement in collaborative, interdisciplinary, and externally funded research.</p><p>You will deliver research‑informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to curriculum design, innovation, and enhancement. You will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, engaging, and high‑quality student experience, and will support the academic and professional development of students and early‑career researchers through effective supervision and mentoring.</p><p>In addition, you will contribute to the effective and collegial operation of the School through administrative and service activities, working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the University&rsquo;s commitment to excellence, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
