Digital Communications Manager (Web)

The interviews will be held  on the Week commencing the 16th February 2026

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you have excellent editorial skills and experience of planning effective digital communications? Are you a strong leader with line management experience who can manage stakeholders with sensitivity and diplomacy? 

The University’s corporate website is Leeds’ digital ‘shop window’ providing a key communications channel with prospective students, staff, research partners and other external audiences. 

As the manager of www.leeds.ac.uk you will lead on the requirements and content for this key channel. You will be experienced in content design and think strategically about the use of web in the context of different audience needs and preferences for communications. You will be confident drawing on insights (qualitative and quantitative) and engaging stakeholders to how this channel is most effectively used and to determine content structure. A skilled writer and editor, you will also be able to coach and train others in writing effectively for digital channels. 

In addition, you’ll have experience in commissioning photography and video content and, where necessary, working with designers to brief in suppliers. Experienced in using a content management system, you will also be able to edit imagery. You will manage work plans for web content for the short, medium and long term, identifying where additional resources or technical work is needed. You will manage the Web Writer and have experience in line management.
