Digital Education Manager (Digital Learning Design & Professional Learning)

This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The Digital Education Service (DES) at the University of Leeds is at the forefront of transforming teaching and learning through innovative digital solutions. Our pioneering service is committed to enhancing the educational experience for students and faculty alike by integrating cutting-edge technologies and pedagogical strategies. With a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity, DES develops and delivers a wide range of online courses and digital resources that extend learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom boundaries. Our work supports the University's strategic objectives to provide flexible, high-quality education and to expand its global reach and impact. Through collaboration with academic departments and external partners, the service leverages the latest in digital education research to ensure that Leeds remains a leader in delivering exceptional, research-informed teaching in a digital age.

The Digital Learning Design team leads the creation of high-quality online and blended learning experiences aligned with institutional priorities, including Curriculum Redefined. This role will build and sustain strategic partnerships with key internal stakeholders including the University Library and within the Student Education and Experience Directorates, and also provide educational oversight of professional learning projects, focusing on supporting academic and professional education to ensure learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a global context.

As the Digital Education Manager, you will drive the strategic direction and operational delivery of digital learning design initiatives. You will lead a dynamic team of course development managers and instructional designers, ensuring the delivery of innovative, accessible, and inclusive learning solutions. This senior role will involve extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging emerging technologies and pedagogies to achieve transformative educational outcomes. For professional learning projects, you will act as the key educational contact point, from scoping through to delivery, coordinating learning design, course development and production teams across the Service, providing quality assurance and overseeing work undertaken by external suppliers.

This role reports to the Head of Digital Education Enhancement & Design, with a dotted line to the Head of Online Learning and the Head of Partnerships & Engagement for oversight of professional learning projects.
