We are looking for a confident, professional and proactive individual to provide high quality, customer focussed research support to the Faculty of Business. Working closely with the Deputy Faculty Research Manager & Head of Faculty Research and Innovation Office, and other research support team members to provide expert knowledge in all aspects of grant management and financial administration in line with University of Leeds and research funder rules and regulations.
You will make a valuable and significant contribution to the Faculty Research and Innovation Office team collaborating closely with the Finance Office team and other Research Operations teams across the institution. You will provide an expert service in the preparation and submission of claims, high volume transactional activity and audit compliance. You will play a lead role in the quarterly forecasting activity, and the analysis of month end variances within the funding portfolio. You will make a significant contribution to the external research funding aspects of the annual Integrated Planning Exercise. You will ensure that the administration of grants is tailored to suit the complexity of awards and the needs of the investigators within the Faculty. You will develop working practices and procedures that support the post award management of funded research within the Faculty.
With significant research finance administrative experience in a busy, customer focussed environment, you will bring excellent organisation, communication and negotiation skills supported by considerable experience of financial systems and procedures, the ability to problem solve, a proactive approach to continuous improvement, and excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You will be a clear communicator who is able to present complex information in an accessible and user-friendly way.
