Assistant International Officer (East Asia)

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you looking for a challenging and busy role which enables you to work across a diverse range of activities? Are you organised and an excellent communicator?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the International Office to help deliver the University’s ambitious internationalisation plans. This post will work with the East Asia Team based in both Leeds and in China, coordinating and supporting engagement activities with key stakeholders in East Asia. The post will provide administrative support to the team, facilitate incoming and outgoing visits, and support the implementation and delivery of marketing and recruitment activities in order to recruit high quality international students to the University.

Based in the University’s International Office, you will be working in a fast-paced and busy team. The role involves a significant amount of administrative work, requiring excellent attention to detail. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential for liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You should be confident using digital platforms to support online activities, such as meetings and webinars, both in the UK and in East Asia. A proactive, self-motivated approach and good problem-solving skills are also key to success in this role.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants.  Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas.

What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
  • Generous pension scheme options plus life assurance
  • Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
