Student Education Development Consultant

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.   We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

This is an exciting time to join the Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL) department at the University of Leeds, as we evolve our provision and service to support the University’s strategic ambitions, as set out in our University Strategy 2020 to 2030: Universal Values/ Global Change.

You will be part of the Student Education Development team within Organisational and Professional Learning Department (OD&PL).  Our portfolio supports the delivery of the University’s strategy for Student Education.  Our provision is shaped by the University strategic priorities (Student Education Strategy and Curriculum Redefined) and is informed by sector standards and best practice in learning, teaching and research development.

Your responsibilities will cover enhanced induction for staff who teach and support learning and a broad range of continuing professional development activities for experienced staff, including tailored provision for student education leadership roles such as our School Directors of Student Education and Programme Leaders as well as provision for the breadth of learning and teaching practices.

To be effective in the role you will bring enthusiasm, dynamism and self-motivation - always keen to understand and meet a diverse range of development needs. This will be coupled with a broad range of knowledge, experience, facilitation and interpersonal skills ensuring you can deliver effective and well received provision to academic colleagues at all levels.

What we offer in return:

  • 26 days holiday plus 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
  • Generous pension scheme options.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
  • Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team, and self-development courses including languages, Creative Writing, Wellbeing Therapies and much more.
  • Access to on-site childcare, shopping discounts and travel schemes are also available.

And much more!
