Contracts Associate

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you want to be part of a team involved in negotiating, reviewing and drafting research and innovation contracts? Are you methodical and systematic with an excellent attention to detail? Are you pro-active and able to deliver to deadlines?

As a member of the Research and Innovation (RIS) Contracts Team, you will provide high quality, customer-focused research and innovation support contributing to the strategic objectives and research culture of the University.

You will work closely with staff within the Contracts Team, academics and faculty research and innovation staff to assist in the provision of research and innovation support. You will have particular responsibility for adapting and populating contracts from a suite of precedent documents, liaising with the external partners and coordinating responses to bring the contract to a successful conclusion; and assisting in maintaining the Contracts Team’s systems and processes.

You will receive training and support from experienced professionals within the Contracts Team in order to develop your skill base and experience. You will hold a degree level (or equivalent) qualification in law and have experience of working in a legal/contractual environment.  You will have excellent communication and IT skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and as well as part of a team, and demonstrate a good problem-solving approach.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas
