Lead Full Stack Software Engineer – Digital Health (KTP Associate)

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum

Do you hold a postgraduate qualification, or have equivalent professional experience, in software engineering, computer science, digital health, health informatics or a related discipline? Are you a software engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex problems and turning ideas into secure, reliable products? This is an exciting opportunity to lead the technical development of a digitally enabled rehabilitation platform for use within NHS clinical pathways.

The University of Leeds is offering a unique opportunity to accelerate your career in industry by delivering a strategically important project through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). You will work in collaboration with Itecho Health Limited and the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds, one of the UK’s leading research intensive institutions.

Itecho Health Limited, based in Leeds, is a digital health company led by clinicians and technology experts. Itecho develops digital platforms that help digitise clinical pathways, support remote patient monitoring and improve the management of long term conditions.

Its products include Ascelus®, a patient and clinician platform that can integrate with existing hospital systems, and aQ™, a medical grade research platform used to collect high quality patient and research data.

Itecho is committed to developing inclusive digital health solutions that can be used by patients regardless of their background, economic circumstances or level of digital confidence.

As the KTP Associate, you will be Itecho’s primary in house software engineer for this project. You will take technical ownership of the platform, working independently while collaborating closely with Itecho’s clinical and product team, University academics, NHS stakeholders and specialist third party technology partners.

This is a highly practical role. You will be expected to design, build, test and deploy software, make sound technical decisions and ensure that work completed by third parties meets Itecho’s technical, security and quality standards.

You will be primarily based at Itecho’s facilities in Leeds and fully embedded within the business. You will also have access to the University of Leeds’ facilities, academic expertise and technical support throughout the project.

What are the benefits of being a KTP Associate?

  • All KTP Associates spend 10% of their time on Personal Development, making full use of a £5,333 PD budget
  • Experience working at the forefront of AI application in a safety-critical engineering environment
  • Hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of an AI product
  • Opportunity to contribute to academic dissemination
  • Access to two residential training sessions aimed at developing project management skills
  • Opportunity to gain both management and academic experience
  • Potential to fast-track a career in industry
  • Access to a wealth of academic resources
  • Access to a Travel & Subsistence and Consumables budget
  • Access to mentoring sessions through Innovate UK
