Lecturer in Earth Surface Geochemistry

The Earth Surface Science Institute (ESSI) is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated geochemist to join our world-leading team of researchers. Following recent successes in grant income and student recruitment, we are seeking an individual to complement our portfolio of excellent research and to support teaching in environmental geochemistry and environmental science. We are specifically looking for someone whose work complements that of our current team, and who can support in research, teaching and fieldwork activities with a particular focus on Earth surface geochemistry in modern and ancient environments.

ESSI is an internationally leading research centre made up of around 30 academic and research staff members and supports approximately 20 affiliated postgraduate research students. Within ESSI there are two research clusters, Cohen Geochemistry and Palaeo@Leeds, whose research strengths lie in environmental geochemistry and environmental science, biogeochemistry, experimental, isotope and organic geochemistry, reconstruction of palaeoenvironments and palaeoclimate, biogeochemical modelling, Earth system evolution, and biological evolution and extinction through Earth history.

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
