Are you passionate about nature conservation? Do you want to help deliver an ambitious landscape-scale nature restoration project in heart of Scotland?
The University of Leeds is working with Forestry and Land Scotland, National Trust for Scotland, Jahama Highland Estates, Great Glen Cattle Ranch and Kinlochleven Community Trust to develop a landscape partnership with a long-term vision to create and restore connected, high-quality rainforest habitats across the iconic landscape of Glen Coe and Loch Leven, in the heart of Scotland.
As the Partnership Project Officer you will be responsible for developing and facilitating the partnership activity. Initial focus will be on planning and prioritising control of invasive species, particularly Rhododendron ponticum. Working alongside our project partners, you will develop a strategic plan for invasive species control. You will lead on the development of a monitoring strategy, to ensure the partnership is delivering evidence-based nature recovery, and knowledge exchange between projects to share learning and encourage best practice.
You will have in-depth knowledge and experience of landscape-scale ecological restoration projects. You will be a highly organised individual with project management experience and ability to work under your own initiative. You will have a passion for nature and an ambition to work to accelerate nature recovery in the UK.
