Teaching Fellow in Sociology and Social Policy

Are you passionate about helping to deliver an exceptional student experience in a top-ranked Russell Group University? Do you have the ability to motivate and inspire learners? Are you an experienced teacher with a postgraduate degree?

As a Teaching Fellow, you will provide effective and innovative teaching across all levels of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes and across a range of topics. We particularly invite applications from those with expertise in disability studies, race and ethnicity, crime and social policy, but applications from all areas of expertise are welcome. These 9-month posts are needed to cover staff absences and are an opportunity for early career academics to gain a wide range of teaching experience in a supportive and intellectually lively environment.

 What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
  • Generous pension scheme options plus life assurance
  • Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
  • Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.
  • Access to on-site childcare, shopping discounts and travel schemes are also available.
