This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
We are looking for a strategic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Security Compliance Manager. Your responsibilities will include assessing potential security threats or breaches and creating a security contingency risk assessment plan to reduce any likelihood of such a breach. The post holder will work as part of the Facilities Directorate Security team and provide a reliable in-house provision for events on campus involving students, staff and invited guests.
Security Services offers a wide range of support to the students and has commenced a programme of innovation and development to enhance the current service, security assets and infrastructure. It will do this by co-creating improved ways of working, processes, and systems to ensure wider University goals and strategies are reached, whilst ensuring a full and robust review of processes, ways of working and the use of technology. This will ensure that the department remains fit for purpose, effective and efficient.
As our Security Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the department’s future planning of events and in considering building security risk assessments and security plans, managing risks in collaboration with the Head of Service and wider Facilities Management.
You will be responsible for advising on relevant security plans and security risk assessments of Faculty/ School buildings, in relation to conferencing and for Leeds Student University Union planned or spontaneous events. This will include assessing future security planning, managing identified risks and issues, and providing accurate and articulate reports on their progress.
You will also be required to undertake regular reviews of the ongoing use of systems to ensure they continue to be used in accordance with intended purpose, that we identify ongoing innovations and improvements and that they are being well managed and maintained.
A Security Compliance Manager, you will have relevant experience in managing security events and complex projects, with the ability to apply best practice methodologies and successfully deliver high profile projects, including managing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and changes on a project. You will understand the HE environment and will be able to challenge accepted norms.
