Strength and Conditioning Coach

Do you have an enthusiasm for strength and conditioning and elite sport? Do you have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and networks? 

At the University of Leeds, we have the ambition to provide the best environment for those student athletes that wish to perform at the highest level and develop their sporting skills. This has been most recently shown through the development of our new sport support service facility – Gryphon Performance Hub. 

As the Strength and Conditioning coach at the University of Leeds, you will plan and deliver a suite of S&C programmes across our performance sport offer. You will ensure athletes benefit from high-quality, evidence-based training and support that optimises performance, minimises injury risk, and fosters long term athletic development. This role will work collaboratively with coaches, physiotherapists, academic staff, and external partners, and play a key part in shaping the strategic direction of performance sport at the University. 

This is a full-time role working 35 hours each week. There will be some requirements to work evenings and weekends. 

Purpose of job

To support the design, delivery, and ongoing development of strength and conditioning (S&C) across the University of Leeds sport programmes. The postholder will help ensure athletes benefit from high-quality, evidence-based training and support that optimises performance, minimises injury risk, and promotes long-term athletic development. Working collaboratively with coaches, physiotherapists, academic staff, and external partners, the role will contribute to the effective delivery and continuous improvement of performance sport provision at the University.
