This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have a passion for sales and events? Do you have an interest in sport, health and fitness and wellbeing? If you’re self-driven, love using your initiative and are a real people person, then this is the opportunity for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sales and Membership team within Sport and Physical Activity. As Sales and Events Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping university students, staff and members of the local community start and continue their fitness journey. From welcoming prospective members to The Edge, the University's on-campus sport and fitness centre, and guiding them through the sales process, to developing lasting relationships that encourage long-term member engagement and retention, you'll be at the heart of creating an outstanding customer experience.
Working closely with the Sales and Membership Manager, you'll help drive membership growth through innovative sales campaigns, engaging events and proactive lead management. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised individual who enjoys working towards targets, building relationships and bringing ideas to life. Whether you're supporting a campus wide promotional event, following up with prospective members through our CRM system, making sales calls or helping deliver first class customer service, you'll have the chance to make a real impact in a vibrant university environment. If you're a confident communicator, a natural team player and have an interest in health, fitness or wellbeing, we'd love to hear from you. You will have experience working in sales in a customer focused environment, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships be it face to face, on the telephone or via email. With a commitment to providing excellent customer service and identify continuous service improvements, you will have the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines. You will also have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent analytical, numeracy and literacy skills.
The role is required for 35 hours each week and is an onsite role. Due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement for you to work during an evening or weekend on occasions in line with the yearly event programme.
