Lecturer Public Health

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you passionate about preparing future doctors to understand and engage with public health challenges? Can you inspire students to think beyond individual patient care and consider the broader factors that influence health and wellbeing? Do you recognise the importance of delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University

The Leeds Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS) invites applications for a Lecturer in Public Health. As an operationally active academic in Public Health, the focus of the role will be the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and contribution primarily to the MBChB curriculum, but also other School of Medicine programmes as appropriate. Our aim is that all Leeds School of Medicine graduates have a strong foundation in public health. We want our graduates to understand not only the science of disease, but also the broader determinants of health, the power of prevention and the importance of equity.

You will be a member of the Faculty of Public Health or equivalent and be practicing as a Public Health Consultant. Being active as a public health consultant you will contribute to the delivery of up to date, excellent educational programmes responsive to the needs of the current and future NHS and Public Health workforce. You will have the opportunity to benefit from the research culture and activities within the school to help you deliver research-informed teaching. Administration duties will also be expected.

What we offer in return
