The Scientific Operations Team are committed to providing responsible and flexible teams to support academic priorities throughout LICAMM. We do this through our dedicated team of technical staff who engage in varied activities to support research and teaching. You will join a team of highly skilled, professionals, working autonomously but also as part of a team to provide laboratory support and/or specialist technical services.
Reporting to the Scientific Operations Manager, you will support the facilitating of the day-to-day provision of a comprehensive and efficient technical laboratory service for students and staff across the Institute. You will promote good practice within the laboratory and be an initial point of contact for researchers reporting problems and signposting to advice and information regarding health, safety and wellbeing within the Institute.
Providing good customer service within a laboratory environment and a proactive and logical approach to problem solving will be an essential part of your role to provide efficient and effective support. You will have an interest in working in a biological or medical sciences-based laboratory or building support environment. You may also have skills to support practical laboratory and research techniques, including basic tissue culture and/or molecular and biochemical analyses.
