Research Technician (Clinical Study & Analysis)

Applications are invited for a Research Technician to directly support patient data collection for the development of a speech-based AI detection tool for neurological disease.

Neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s disease and brain tumours remain very difficult to detect early. Symptoms can often overlap with more commonly occurring conditions such as migraine, depression stress or fatigue. Earlier detection might improve outcome for these diseases.

BrAInDetect has been developed by researchers at the University of Leeds. It is a speech-based AI tool that analyses multiple features of raw audio, generated by patients answering a carefully curated set of questions, to detect whether the respondent might have a brain tumour. We would like to expand the brain tumour and healthy volunteer datasets, alongside collecting data for symptomatic patients without proven neurological disease and patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
