Senior Officer (Student Success)

This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you want to play a key role in supporting the success of students at Leeds, particularly Black students? Are you a team player with excellent communication skills? Do you have attention to detail and experience of evaluating the impact of projects and/or interventions and analysing quantitative data to understand trends?

This role is intended to maximise success at the University of Leeds amongst students from a wide range of backgrounds, to ensure they feel valued, thrive academically, continue in their studies and achieve their goals. The role will focus on improving outcomes for Black students, and we particularly welcome applications from those who have lived experience of being a Black student at a UK University.

The role will be key in supporting the Progression Between Years (PBY) project; a series of initiatives aimed at supporting the continuation of students between the years of their degree at Leeds and helping to address potential barriers that hinder their on-course success.

Your work will involve providing project support to multiple Faculties and/or Schools across the institution, working with the Central Student Success Team, Senior Faculty Student Success Officers, Engagement Callers and other key stakeholders, to identify areas of focus, develop and deliver projects and interventions and effectively evaluate their impact.

This work will involve liaising with academic and professional staff within faculties and more widely, to help ensure that University staff, activities and processes are supportive of groups at risk including those from widening participation backgrounds.

You will be expected to robustly evaluate and report on the impact of support delivered to understand the outcome of the work and to ensure that it is appropriately targeted and delivered.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role may only be suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants if they are eligible for salary concessions. For more information please visit: www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa
