GHWY Project Manager (Uni Connect)

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you passionate about supporting young people from underrepresented groups to progress into Higher Education?

Do you have the leadership and stakeholder engagement skills needed to deliver an impactful collaborative outreach programme across a diverse regional partnership?

Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY) is member-owned consortium of 13 Higher Education Providers (HE providers)/member institutions who aim to help improve the life chances of students and learners, with a focus on under-represented groups, helping them better understand the benefits of and options for HE.

We are now looking for an exceptional individual to drive the successful strategy, plans and delivery of our Uni Connect Programme in what is planned to be its final year of delivery.

Background Information

  • Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY) is hosted by the University of Leeds (UoL).
  • The GHWY central team is employed at UoL, but works on behalf of all 13 GHWY HE provider member institutions.
  • This role is based within the GHWY central team. The successful candidate will therefore be employed at the University of Leeds, but representing GHWY and its 13 HE provider member institutions.
  • This post is externally funded through the Office for Students’ Uni Connect Programme (UC), which is delivered in West Yorkshire by GHWY. It includes a geographically-spread delivery team of Outreach Officers, employed at 12 HE providers, to which this role has dotted line management.
  • UC aims to contribute to reducing the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups.

Please note that this post may be suitable for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route but first-time applicants might need to qualify for salary concessions. For more information please visit: www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa.

What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
