Senior Portfolio Officer: Planning and Risk

Interviews are expected to be held 25 July 2025

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

As the Transformation Office’s Senior Portfolio Officer: Planning and Risk, you will play a key role in supporting senior leaders across the University in the delivery of a transformational change portfolio.

Working as an integral member of the Delivery Assurance Team, you will use your extensive knowledge and experience of planning and risk management principles to lead the development of the standards, processes and tools in these areas as part of the portfolio centre of excellence provision. This will involve defining and sharing frameworks tailored to the University requirements, providing specialist guidance, advice and consultancy to the Project Management teams to support their adoption and ongoing adherence, bringing consistency across the delivery of all change programmes within the portfolio.

The role will also be responsible for managing portfolio level reporting, ensuring an accurate and insightful view of escalated risk and delivery plans to provide University leadership with a clear and concise overview and informed assurance.

You will provide scrutiny and positive challenge across the portfolio, dealing with complex information, to ensure that agreed methods are consistently applied and tailored where appropriate.

Please note that this post may be suitable for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route but first-time applicants might need to qualify for salary concessions. For more information please visit: www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa.
