Specialist Study Skills Tutor

Would you like to support the academic progress of students with barriers to learning? Are you experienced in working professional with adults or young people in a supportive role? Do you have specialist knowledge of specific learning difficulties or autism?

As a specialist one to one study skills tutor you will be responsible for providing study skills and disability strategy support to students with specific learning difficulties, autism and a range of other disabilities.

You must either:

• The appropriate professional membership for supporting students with specific learning difficulties of: ADSHE, BDA, Dyslexia Guild or PATOSS, as set in the DSA-QAG mandatory criteria. And/or

• Meet the DfE Mandatory Criteria for Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support – Autism Spectrum Conditions (SS-ASC). Details can be found here: https://www.practitioners.slc.co.uk/media/2114/matrix-june-2025-latest.pdf details can be found on pages 12-16.

The University will reimburse you for professional body fees and some relevant CPD.

Contracts are available on a minimum number of contracted hours per year basis.
