Volunteering Officer

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.  We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you thrive in a proactive and varied environment? Are you a well-organised individual with a flair for event management? Can you use your organisational and administrative skills to coordinate and support a broad range of student engagement events and activities?

You will join the Student Engagement and Enrichment Team within the Global Opportunities service. The team deliver a range of student volunteering, community engagement and leadership opportunities, managing several programmes: the Leeds Volunteering Hub, Students into Schools (SiS) and Leadership and Undergraduate Research programmes, amongst others.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering a programme of events across the academic year, from large scale events such as a Volunteering Fair, National Student Volunteering Week and conferences to smaller engagement events and activities. You will have the opportunity to lead some of these events and support the delivery of others.

You will provide high quality administrative support to the team’s managed programmes. This will involve coordinating the online volunteering portal, ensuring all roles meet our quality assurance standards and operationally support the safer recruitment of the Students into Schools programme.

You will also work with colleagues across Global Opportunities to deliver the volunteering strand of the summer Global Experiential Learning programme, including the risk awareness process for international placements.

You will be a strong team player who is flexible, highly organised and has a commitment to providing a quality service. You will have a proactive approach to supporting complex and detailed processes with a track record of exceptional administrative skills. You will be able to communicate effectively and build strong, lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will collaborate with other University services and faculties, including Leeds University Union (LUU) whilst contributing to, and supporting activities across Global Opportunities.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas
