This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have exceptional and skills in supporting adults from diverse backgrounds to develop their capability in numeracy and maths skills? Do you have relevant experience in delivering maths support to adults who are considering studying a range of subjects in higher education?
The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) works with mature and part-time undergraduate and foundation-year learners across the University, especially where this enables participation of people from groups that are under-represented in higher education. Our mission includes supporting adults with few formal qualifications who are applying to the University.
Working collaboratively with existing maths tutors, academic skills and the outreach team you will: i) be engaged in our collaborative outreach work with FE and other education pathway providers; ii) provide support for the Alternative Admissions Scheme; iii) deliver bridging provision prior to University study.
You will need to be enthusiastic and innovative in working with adult learners to promote a positive attitude towards maths using a range of pedagogies, with the ability to develop and collate materials which support independent learning
