Senior Employability Officer

Faculty of Social Sciences: Directorate of Student Success & Educational Engagement. In the first instance you will be based in the Faculty of Social Sciences, however over the course of your role this may change according to business and personal development needs

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements

Are you a well organised and adaptable individual, committed to delivering an excellent student experience? Do you want to help students to succeed after graduation by providing high quality employability and placement support?

Working as part of the Directorate of Student Success and Educational Engagement, we are looking to appoint a pro-active individual with high standards, drive and determination to deliver a range of quality employability initiatives and activities for students within the Faculty of Social Sciences. This role will lead, manage and deliver employability opportunities for students, enabling them to succeed both as a student and once they have graduated. The role will provide effective managerial and administrative support for a range of employability interventions such as employer engagement, business development, placements, internships, events and workshops. You will be required to establish contacts with a range of placement providers and will need a proactive approach to develop new opportunities and build partnerships to deliver increased student opportunities.

Reporting to the Faculty Employability and Placements Manager, you will work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues, including across Schools and Faculties; sharing information, making connections and improving the service we deliver. At all times, you will be sensitive and supportive in relation to the student experience and ensure that student voice and inclusive practice is at the centre of all we do.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role may only be suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants if they are eligible for salary concessions. For more information please visit: www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa
