Software Developer

Are you highly motivated with a background in computer science, physical science or engineering? Would you like to be part of two exciting and internationally leading atmospheric science facilities? Do you want to develop software tools & services to support the deployment of the Atmospheric Measurement and Observation Facility (AMOF) and the FAAM Airborne Laboratory (FAAM)?

The National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) is seeking a software developer to develop software services and applications that enable users of AMOF and FAAM to visualise and interact with weather and air quality forecast model output and near-real-time ground-based observations, in addition to specialist tools for flight planning. You will work with the user community to identify the type of application and service required and provide support and training material to users.

You will be joining the NCAS team in Leeds and will work closely with and make visits to AMOF (based around the UK), FAAM (based in Cranfield) and the data teams at the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA, based in Harwell).
