Leeds University Libraries offer exceptional facilities for teaching, learning and research to a truly global community of more than 39,000 students from 170 difference countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 difference nationalities.  We aim to connect our community of users with content through the most effective channels, whilst also continuing to curate our extensive collections, both print and electronic.  The University’s values centre upon: Collaboration; Compassion; Inclusivity; Integrity, all of which underpin a mission to advance knowledge, transform lives, address local and global challenges, and reduce inequality. As a Library we take an inclusive approach to the development of our services and collections and we are committed to supporting schemes that promote the open sharing of knowledge.

We are seeking to recruit a Team Manager to lead our newly formed Collections Liaison Team based within the Collections Development and Management section. The focus of the team is to ensure the alignment of our collections and subscriptions portfolio with teaching and research needs across the University.

You and the Team will work with colleagues in academic departments and faculties, and with students, to understand their information resource requirements.  You will use this information to work with our Subscriptions and Access and Acquisitions teams to procure and set up access to content in the most appropriate way.

You’ll have significant experience of working with library collections and the provision of content and have a good understanding of the role of the Library in a higher education institution.  You’ll have experience of motivating, leading, and developing staff effectively and possess strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.  You’ll also be able to work collaboratively with others and have experience of building effective relationships with key stakeholders.
