Lecturer in Ecology and Global Change

Are you an academic with a proven ability to teach and research in ecology and environmental change, or related topics? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Are you determined to develop research funding and high-quality publications in the area of ecology and environmental science?  

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious Lecturer to join our Ecology and Global Change cluster. Current strengths of this vibrant and internationally recognised group include world-class research and teaching in terrestrial ecosystem ecology, biogeochemistry and environmental change. With this position we are looking to grow and strengthen our teaching and research capacity further. Your role will be to provide high-quality, innovative teaching within ecology and environmental change, and to develop an active research agenda. Candidates working in these and complementary areas - for example environmental remote sensing, paleoecology, or ecophysiology - are welcome to apply. You will also plan and deliver teaching in key research skills in physical geography – these may include data analysis and research planning. You will contribute to the development and delivery of new modules, with opportunities for leadership in undergraduate or graduate course design. You will aspire to attract research funding individually and collaboratively to underpin high quality research activity and outputs.

You will have a PhD in Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography or similar discipline. You will have a passion for University teaching and be an excellent and enthusiastic communicator who interacts successfully with students at all levels. You will have a track record of international research publications and be developing a research agenda. This position offers excellent development opportunities, with clear promotion criteria.
